Blueprint Web KAH

We treat every patient as an individual.

We sit down with each family and will make recommendations for their pet after discussing that patient's specific lifestyle. Different criteria, which will be discussed, include vaccinations, diet and appropriate diagnostic tests. We do provide base recommendations, which act as a health care guide, but will strive to tailor these recommendations based on the patient's breed, age, exposure level as well as the client's individual philosophy.

Mission Statement: To provide high quality veterinary care while treating patients and their caregivers with compassion and respect.  Every effort will be taken to exceed client's expectations and each patient cared for as if they were our own.

Holiday Pet Food Drive 2015

This year we were able to collect and amazing 5,000lbs of dog/cat food and kitty litter donations that was distributed to the local animal rescues including: CLAWS, Grand River Humane Society, Loma Cat House, Mesa County Animal Services and Roice-Hurst Humane Society. Thank you to all who donated to this great cause to help pets in need!

Collaboration with Fruita Police Department

This year the Fruita PD started a program to help Fruita pets to find furever homes. In collaboration with them we donated the spay and vaccine in order to help the first dog, Lola, find a loving home. We look forward to being able to help out more local pets in need and a great partnership with the Fruita Police Department.

Lola's Bladder Stone Surgery-06/03/2014

Lola is a 7 year old Shih Tzu who was recently relinquished to Roice Hurst Humane Society. Lola was presented to the clinic for abnormal urination behavior and was quickly diagnosed with bladder stones as seen on the radiographs. Lola underwent her second surgery in 2 years to remove the bladder stones and is now back on a prescription diet to help manage and prevent recurrence of stone formation which she will need to be on for the remainder of her life.

Dogs and cats alike are at risk for developing bladder stones which can quickly lead to a life threatening emergency if the urethra, the outflow track for the bladder, becomes blocked or plugged by a stone. Some stones are amenable to diet therapy and dissolution, but often times surgery is needed to remove the stones and assure that a urethral blockage does not occur.

A urinalysis and monitoring of urinary pH levels can help determine if a pet is at risk for bladder stones. This is another reason we have included annual urinalysis screening as part of our wellness plan plus package to provide the best preventative care possible to our patients. Check out our Facebook page for pictures of Lola's stones and x-rays!

Services

Our services include but are not limited to: exams, surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, microchipping, vaccines, and an in house laboratory.

Wellness Plans

We offer puppy, kitten and adult wellness plans. They are a good way for the pet to get what he/she needs i.e. vaccines, blood work, parasite testing, etc but for the payment to be split up in monthly charges throughout the year that are directly debited from either a bank account or debit/credit card of your choice. Call today to find out more about our wellness plans and which one will be best for your furry friend!

Microchipping

A microchip is about the size and shape of a grain of rice and is injected under your pet's skin with a syringe. The microchip gives the pet a permanent form of ID, which is identified by a scanner used by animal hospitals, emergency centers, humane societies, etc.

Laboratory

Our in house lab has the ability to evaluate blood, urine, stool and various tissue samples rapidly. We also have a coagulation analyzer for use in emergencies. Kokopelli also works with a referral veterinary lab for a variety of specialized tests.

Pharmacy

The in hospital pharmacy aids client convenience by offering many of the commonly prescribed animal medications and prescription animal diets. Kokopelli Animal Hospital also has an online pharmacy with delivery to your front door.

Dentistry

Dentistry

Dirty teeth harbor large amounts of bacteria which can stress an animal's immune system and internal organs. Our ultrasonic dental units and digital dental x-ray allow us to provide state of the art care including cleaning, polishing, x-rays and extractions when necessary.

Digital X-Ray

Our digital x-ray unit allows us to image your pet in seconds. Digital images can readily be sent to veterinary radiologists when a second opinion is needed.

Ultrasound

This noninvasive test allows for evaluation of abdominal organs and can aid in obtaining fine needle biopsies of abnormal organs. This is the same test performed on pregnant women to evaluate a baby.

Surgery

A full complement of soft tissue and orthopedic surgery are performed at the hospital including, but not limited to spay/neuter, tissue biopsy, amputations, organ removal, joint and fracture repair, etc.
